Young Jumper Series
The Blenheim EquiSports West Coast Young Jumper Series (herein referred afterwards as Series) is open to USEF age verified horses and provides complimentary Young Jumper entry fees and reduced stabling fees during all Blenheim EquiSports managed events (young jumpers are not offered at the Showpark Spring Festival). The Series finishes with the Blenheim EquiSports West Coast Young Jumper Championships. Open to all USEF age verified Young Jumper horses, the Championships will provide $60,000 in total prize money plus Bonus Awards. The 2022 Season commences March 24 & concludes August 21, 2022.
During each participating member event horse show all Young Jumpers will be eligible for:
Free Young Jumper Class(es) Entry Fees (2 DIVISION CLASSES offered, held according to USEF Young Jumper Specs)
- Free Young Jumper Classic Entry Fee (1 CLASSIC offered per 5, 6, 7 yr old – see specs below)
- Reduced Stabling Fee (otherwise known as the Young Horse Stall rate)
- One (1) additional non-prize money Jumper Class — Free Entry Fee

5YR OLD YOUNG JUMPER CLASSIC
Format: Table II (after July 1, may be Table II, 2a, b, or d)
Prize Money: $500 – BLUE RIBBONS TO ALL TIED FOR 1ST; additional ribbons for all other ties; (after July 1, Ribbons thru 8th place)
Fence Height – 1.00m – 1.15m (after July 1, 1.20m)
Time Allowed – 325 meters/minute
6YR OLD YOUNG JUMPER CLASSIC
Format: Table II 2(b)
Prize Money: $750 & Ribbons thru 8th place
Fence Height – 1.20m to 1.25m (after July 1, 1.30m)
Time Allowed – 350 meters/minute
7YR OLD YOUNG JUMPER CLASSIC
Format: Table II 2(b)
Prize Money: $1000 & Ribbons thru 8th place
Fence Height – 1.30m – 1.35m
Time Allowed – 350 meters/minute

The 2022 $60,000 Blenheim EquiSports West Coast Young Jumper Championships will be held during Blenheim Summer Classic at the Rancho Mission Viejo Riding Park, San Juan Capistrano, CA and are open to all USEF age verified Young Jumpers.
The 5, 6, & 7 yr old Championships are comprised of 3 rounds – with the best 15 from Rounds 1 and 2 eligible to advance to Round 3 (otherwise known as the FINAL). Rounds 1 & 2 will be pinned and each Round will award prize money plus points to determine the Best 15. Round 3 (or the FINAL) will be a separate round, featuring the Best 15, and will award prize money and placings based on the performance of Round 3 only.
The 4 yr old Championships will be held as a two phase event – see below for additional information.
Special Conditions of this Young Jumper competition: Proper attire required for rounds 1& 2; formal attire required for the Final Round •
Horses may not have competed in a Grand Prix offering $25,000 or more at National or Intl. level

• No horse that was eliminated in the First or Second Qualifier is eligible for the Final (Round 3)
• If a horse is eliminated in the First Round, they are still eligible to compete in the Second Round.
Format – The Order of Go for all ages for Round One will be determined by random draw. •
The Order of Go for the Five Year Old horses for Round 2 & Round 3 (FINAL) will be determined by random draw.
• The Order of Go for the Six & Seven Year Old horses for Round 2 will be the reverse of the drawn order for the First Qualifier. The Order of Go for Round 3 (FINAL) for the Six & Seven Year Old horses will be the reverse order of standing based on total points from the first and second qualifying classes.
Point System for Five, Six, & Seven Year Old Horses – In Rounds 1 & 2 for each age group the winner will receive 0 points, second place receives 2 points, third place receives 3 points, etc. Points from Rounds 1 & 2 in each age group will be added for each horse and 15 horses with the lowest point totals, including ties, will qualify for the Final. Horses tied for any placing will receive equal points.
Awards and Prize Money – Rounds 1 & 2 Prize Money will be awarded thru 10th place as follows: 30%, 20%, 12%, 8%, 7%, 6%, 5%, 4%, 4%, 4%; ; Round 1 & 2 Prize money for the Five Year Old horses will be evenly distributed between all clear rounds ▪ Round 3 – Championship & Reserve Champion Ribbons to the best two horses per age group and ribbons thru 10th; Prize Money for each age group will pay as follows: 30%, 20%, 12%, 8%, 7%, 6%, 5%, 4%, 4%, 4%.
