At Blenheim’s June Classic III, or the week we like to call “pony palooza,” pony riders Paloma Primavera and Selma Eriksen gave us the scoop about each of their ponies. In a series of interview questions about what their ponies would be like as people, both of the girls showed their trusty steeds’ extraordinary and unique personalities. From their responses, one thing we can conclude for sure is that The Office would probably be quite a popular show among horses if they could watch TV… Read on for more!

A stellar horse show experience!

 Paloma Primavera and her pony Tinkerbell had a great week at June Classic III, conquering the Pacific Field’s USHJA National Hunter Derby course and the Medium Pony Hunter division. The pair were such a joy to watch in the arena, Primavera sporting a smile on her face each time she entered the gate. Primavera thinks she and Tinkerbell might be quite similar if her pony were a human. 

 

  • If your pony was a celebrity, who would they be and why?
    “I think Taylor Swift, because she can be really nice but also really salty.”

  • If your pony could talk back to you in the ring, what would they say?
    “Probably to just hang on, and that she can do all of it.”

  • If your pony had a favorite TV show, what would it be and why?
    “I would say The Office, because there’s so much going on. She’s just really busy.”

  • What makes your pony unique?
    “For a mare, she’s really snuggly and nice.”
  • What is your pony’s current favorite “people food?”
    “Probably pizza. She had a piece once and she loved it.”

Selma and her pony Petey also rocked the Medium Pony Hunter classes at June Classic III, even earning a blue ribbon  in one of their rounds over fences. During her interview, Erikson showed so much love for her pony and his fun-loving, humorous personality. 

  • If your pony was a celebrity, who would they be and why?
    “I think he would be Justin Bieber, because no offense to JB, but my pony is very lazy and he is too. Plus, they both have blonde hair (kind of, he’s a white pony). And, he’s very kind and snuggly.”

  • If your pony could talk back to you in the ring, what would they say?
    “Probably ‘stop spurring me, can we just go eat?”

  • If your pony had a favorite TV show, what would it be and why?
    “Probably The Office because he’s very funny, and he just has lots of humor, even though he doesn’t know it.”

  • What makes your pony unique?
    “I think everything about his personality, he’s just very different. He wouldn’t do anything bad to hurt anyone, he’s never bucked or anything, he’s just a perfect pony and I feel like that’s very rare to find.”
  • What is your pony’s current favorite “people food?”
    “He loves snacks, I think he would like cake a lot. He’d just mush his face in it.”
