Medal Final season signals the end of summer and the beginning of fall and this weekend 113 equestrians in three age sections were tested in the equitation arena.  When competing in the California Professional Horsemen’s Association Foundation Equitation Championships, the equitation tests are uniquely built into the two rounds. Those who had put in extra hours with the counter-canter had an edge throughout the Championships, held August 24-25, at the Showpark Summer Classic at the Del Mar Horse Park.

Gegen Goes For It In The $50,000 Grand Prix Of Showpark

For the second year in a row, Nick Gegen led the victory gallop in Saturday’s feature event at the Showpark Summer Classic. Aboard Arc De Triomphe owned by Neaulani Farms, Gegen topped a field of twenty-one entries on another perfect #WestCoastShowcation day in beautiful Del Mar, California. Keri Potter and Jiminy Cricket, winners of the Markel Insurance Jumper Classic earlier in the week, finished a fraction of a second slower to earn second place honors.

Team Tres Palomas Victorious In Marquis Opening Event At Showpark Summer Classic

Twenty-eight horse/rider combinations took center stage for a special Thursday edition of the $25,000 Markel Insurance 1.45m Jumper Series during Showpark Summer Classic. The feature event, which was held concurrently with the $2,500 Blenheim EquiSports U25 Jumper Classic, resulted in a very special teacher/student victory as Keri Potter aboard Jiminy Cricket won the Markel while her student, Hannah Loly and her horse Ayma De La Demi Lune bested the young riders.
