The $58,000 Blenheim EquiSports Young Jumper Championships, presented by Fairbanks Valley Farm saw forty-two young horses, ages four to seven, compete on the grass field over three days of competition. These future stars gained solid miles with top course designers at Blenheim EquiSports shows that offer young horse classes and prize money Classics for free along with reduced stabling fees.

Of the eleven horses who competed in the six-year-old division, two riders delivered clear rounds in all three classes. A fault-free jump off performance gave Natasha Traurig and JOLIA BH the win for Singatel LLC.

Emily Esau-Williams and HD KANNASLO are Best in the Five-Year-Old Division
After three rounds, two five-year-olds were triple clean in the five-year-old division. In the subsequent jump off, it was Emily Esau-Williams and HD Horses LLC’s chestnut gelding HD KANNASLO’s skill and scope shining through to take home the victory.

Future Champions Were Recognized in the Four, Five, and Six-Year-Old Divisions
In the Four-Year-Old section, Michelle Parker rode CCF CORNERSTONE to championship honors for Dana B Nemeth. This age group was judged on jumping type, scope, and technique.

Quinn Ferreira rode Ixchel Mosley’s gray mare, FLEUR DE PUISSANCE, to the Future championship in the five-year-old section.

The six-year-old young jumper future championship was a competitive section with five entries vying for the champion honors. Natasha Traurig bested the field yet again, this time with JIRENA P, owned by Singatel LLC.

Blenheim EquiSports was honored to host the 49th Annual Foxfield Medal Finals on the grass of The Oaks International Grand Prix Field in San Juan Capistrano where, after two rounds and a work-off, Lanie Walkenbach led the victory gallop aboard LET’S GO.
EMO Insurance / USHJA 3’3″ Jumping Seat Medal Final, West
Kyle Cline rode CAZZ C
The West Coast iteration of the EMO Insurance/USHJA 3’3″ Jumping Seat Medal wrapped up on Sunday, September 20 after two days and four rounds of competition. Moving up to the leading spot in the final phases, Kyle Cline rode CAZZ C to claim the title and take the victory gallop around the Oaks International Grand Prix Field.
CPHA West Coast Green Hunter Incentive Championships
Nick Haness and Tara Metzner rode their mounts to blue ribbons in the California Professional Horsemen’s Association (CPHA) West Coast Green Hunter Incentive Championships.
Nick Haness, aboard FAN CLUB
In the sixth annual $15,000 3’0” & 3’3” Championship, Nick Haness and West Coast Equine Partners LLC’s FAN CLUB topped the field. Welcoming sixteen entries on the grass Pacific Field, Haness, aboard FAN CLUB impressed judges Bill Ellis and Andrea Wells to earn an 87 in Round 1 and 88 in Round 2 for an 87.5 average and the top call.
Tara Metzner aboard NEXT MONDAY
Of six entries in the inaugural $10,000 3’6” & 3’9” section, it was the eight-year-old mare, NEXT MONDAY, ridden by Tara Metzner and owned by Davlyn Farms, who led the victory gallop earning consistent scores of 82 in Round 1 and 87 in Round 2 for an overall average of 84.5.
USHJA Green Hunter Incentive Southwest Championships
The 2020 USHJA Green Hunter Incentive Southwest Championships concluded on September 17 with two new champions.
Joie Gatlin and EDUCATED GUESS
With $5,000 up for grabs in the 3’0″/3’3″ section of the Championships, 10 horse-and-rider combinations took to the course. Joie Gatlin took an early lead aboard Clover Lane Farm, LLC’s EDUCATED GUESS with an 82 in round one and held that spot to the end, adding a second round score of 87 to finish with a 169.
Nick Haness and REESE’S
The $5,000 3’6″/3’9″ section saw Nick Haness and REESE’S on top of the leaderboard from beginning to end. After grabbing a 10-point lead in round one with an 85, Haness and the gelding owned by West Coast Equine Partners, LLC earned an 87 in round two to finish with a total score of 172.
USHJA Pony Hunter Derby Championship, West
The USHJA Pony Hunter Derby Championship West was contested on the Pacific Grass Field during the Bleheim Fall Tournament. The Championship featured two rounds — a Classic Hunter style course and a Handy Hunter course. Fence heights were adjusted by size (small – 2’3″, medium – 2’6″, and large 2’9″-3’0″), but the class was not split by size.

The small but mighty duo of Shiloh Roseboom and Enchantment Farms LLC’s HEAVENLY PATCH OF BLUE were strong from start to finish to come out on top at the USHJA Pony Hunter Derby Championship.
