Prize List Available and Entries Now Open for San Juan Capistrano Outreach Classics!
The San Juan Capistrano Outreach Classics 1 & 2, presented by Equi Sports Inc, are set to provide six days of fun, competitive classes ranging from walk-trot to $20,000 1.35m Open Jumper Classics – and entries are now open to be a part of the new shows!

The upcoming San Juan Capistrano Outreach Classic 1 will be held June 21-23, 2024, at the Rancho Mission Viejo Riding Park in San Juan Capistrano, CA, and will offer USHJA Outreach classes and PCHA, CPHA, LAHJA, OCHSA, GSDHJA and SCHSA Medals. All classes will also count towards GSDHJA and OCHSA year-end points. Additional USHJA Outreach highlights include:
- $2,500 3’ Markel Hunter Derby
- $1,000 2’6” Itty Bitty Hunter Derby and $1,500 2’9” Hunter Derby
- $1000 Mary’s Tack & Feed 1.20m Jumper Classic
- Prize money classics from .65m –1.20m Jumpers
The non-rated lineup will also include a $1,500 1.30m Open Speed, $1,500 1.30m Power & Speed and $20,000 1.35m Open Jumper Classic.
Designing the courses for the jumpers in the new Ortega Ebb & Flow Arena will be world-renowned FEI Level 3 course designer Ivan Tagle of Argentina.
USHJA Outreach offers many benefits for competitors. First, USHJA Outreach membership is FREE. Riders, trainers and USHJA registered horses are able to earn points by competing in designated classes. There are awards in each section in each Zone, and ribbons, swag, apparel and competition opportunities at the USHJA National Championship are also available!
Outreach memberships also allow individuals access to USHJA’s wide variety of programs and educational opportunities, many of which do not require horse ownership. Members can also apply for scholarships and grants to further their equine and academic goals.
The rider achieving Gold Level status with the highest number of points from each Zone by September 15 will be awarded the “Golden Back Stage Pass,” which includes an opportunity to attend the USHJA National Championships. These riders will be invited to participate in the grand prix show jumping and hunter derby course walks, engage in educational sess.ions and compete at the USHJA National Championships in the Affiliate Championship sections.
