Celebrating Circuit Awards Presented to Top Competitors From the 2019 Blenheim EquiSports Show Season

September 30, 2019 – San Juan Capistrano, CA – At the conclusion of this year’s fall shows, Blenheim EquiSports Circuit Awards were presented to riders who had accumulated the most points in their respective Classics over the course of the 2019 Blenheim EquiSports outdoor season.

In total 15 Grand Champions were recognized, and in some instances, it came down to the final competition of the season to determine the winners. Blenheim EquiSports congratulates all who made excellent efforts in the show ring; and would like to thank the generous sponsors of each classic who not only supplied thoughtful prizes to each circuit champion but to each weekly classic winner as well.

Several Circuit Grand Champions were determined by the results of the final classic of the series.

With double points on the line, the nail-biting finish in the Antares Sellier 1.25m JR/AM/AO Jumper Classic held during Blenheim International Jumping Festival proved exciting! With the win, Lauren Flather aboard Tornado thus claimed the lavish circuit prize – an Antares “Spooner” Saddle.

After leading the victory gallop on 45 points, Flather met with Chantal Long of Antares for her post-win interview and saddle fitting – check out the video below!

Another pair who needed to be victorious in their final Classic outing for the circuit title was Ariana Marnell and her partner Balisar.

With a double clear effort in the One K Helmets Children’s Jumper Classic they capped off a super Blenheim Fall Tournament which included the Grand Championship and a gift certificate towards any One K Helmet.

In the Mary’s Tack & Feed 1.20m Jumper Classic Circuit Award, Jason McArdle topped the field of professional, junior, and amateur competitors.

McArdle rode Da’s Mooi Man to two wins and with his third-place finish during Blenheim Fall Tournament secured the Circuit Grand Championship title with 33 points and a $350 Ariat shopping spree generously sponsored by Mary’s Tack & Feed.

With a grand total of 32 points, including a victory and many other top placings this year, Constance Kilmartin and Lucent, trained by Hap Hansen, clinched the Romfh Equestrian Apparel Adult Jumper Classic Circuit Award and $250 Romfh Gift Certificate. Hansen and Kilmartin have a plan for her to progress into the 1.20m and 1.30m jumpers, “Constance is a great rider and will have no problem moving up next year. I’m looking forward to watching her and helping her along the way.”

When asked about the Blenheim EquiSports Circuit Awards, Hansen was complimentary, “I would like to thank Blenheim for providing us with this beautiful show facility and amazing awards. They always do such a great job and make the exhibitors feel welcomed and encouraged. My clients and I appreciate it.”

Claire Follmer and Tasha Visokay with Bella Sofia

Clear cut winners of the Kastel Denmark 1.45m JR/AM/AO Circuit Award were Claire Follmer and Bella Sofia who came into the final classic already in the lead for the title. As the victor of the finale event Follmer was presented with a Kastel Denmark sun shirt plus a signature jacket gift certificate for the overall Grand Championship.

In the Valencia Sport Saddlery 1.35m JR/AM/AO Jumper Classic series, Amateur rider Michelle Kerivan earned the $250 Gift Certificate circuit prize and branded ribbon after a successful season with her mount, Cornwall 13.

With the added win during the final classic of the season held during Blenheim Fall Tournament, victory for Kerivan was twice as nice.

In the Veredus Low Children’s/Adult Jumper Classic Series, two Classic Circuit Grand Champions were recognized.

Leading the way in the Adult category were Taylor Kusomano and Dame Sula, who earned this honor by finishing with 24 points after a win during the Showpark Racing Festival, and a second place finish during the Blenheim Fall Tournament.

The leading Children’s rider was Lauren Little, who rode Ultra D’Eclipse to total of 50 points during the season, including a win in the final classic held during International Jumping Festival.

For each classic blue, a pair of Veredus Olympus horse boots was the prize. For the Circuit Grand Championship, both Kusomano and Little were presented with a full set of Veredus USA’s Colors Collection Olympus horse boots and branded ribbon.

The Plaid Horse sponsored the 3’3” Junior Hunter Classic Circuit Award, and the winner was Lauren Little (pictured right, photo by Cathrin Cammitt), this time aboard Surf’s Up. The pair won three 3’3” Junior Hunter Classics and received top placings in many others to earn a total of 52 points and the championship honors, as well as The Plaid Horse merchandise.

Trained by Cassandra Karazissis, Little is looking forward to continuing her success next season. “Working toward the Blenheim circuit awards was a great goal for Lauren this year. Next year we’re looking forward to continuing in the 3’3″ Junior Hunters and Hunter Derbies with ‘Cappy,’ and the goal is to qualify for indoors as well.”

When asked about the Blenheim circuit awards, Karazissis noted, “It’s great to have such a variety of classes in the hunter ring that junior riders can compete in. It’s allowed Lauren and other juniors to create and work toward different year-end goals.”

In the American Horse Products 3’6” Junior Hunter Classic Circuit Award, taking home top honors this season was Brooke Morin aboard Ashton.

The pair won two 3’6” Junior Hunter Classics as well as other top placings throughout the year to earn a total of 45 points. Morin was awarded a $375 Gift Certificate to American Horse Products for her win.

After the conclusion of the final Brookway Stables Young Hunter Classic of the season, the Horseflight Leading Young Hunter Award was presented to Alison Stocker, the owner of six-year old Boston, who was ridden by Rose Carver to a total of 55 points. Prior to the Young Hunter Finals, team Boston was recognized center ring with a $2,500 Horseflight Equine Travel Voucher and branded Circuit Grand Champion ribbon.

Caroline Ingalls topped the charts in the Marshall & Sterling Insurance 3’6” Amateur Owner Hunter Classic Circuit Award with her hunter Concerto after earning a total of 74 points in the series. Presenting on behalf of Marshall & Sterling Insurance was Missy Sullivan who awarded Ingalls with a beautiful embroidered cooler and tricolor ribbon. This win was a great accomplishment before Ingalls heads east. “Caroline is going to be competing in the AO hunters at Washington International and the National Horse Show, which will be a very exciting new experience for her,” Hansen noted.

Natalie Rae Medlock and her mount Luciano were the winners of the Callidae 3’3” Amateur Owner Hunter Classic Circuit Award, earning a total of 84 points throughout the show season.

Medlock was awarded a $250 Callidae Gift Certificate for her impressive efforts, plus for each win this season, she took home a signature snap polo by Callidae.

Horse Hair Analysis sponsored the Adult Hunter Classic Circuit Award, won by Katie Cook and Doheney, who earned a total of 48 points throughout the Blenheim EquiSports show season.

The pair won two classics, including the final one offered, to take home the beautiful crystal vase sponsored by Horse Hair Analysis.

Shiloh Roseboom and her lovely small pony, Heavenly Patch of Blue, topped the field in the American Horse Products Pony Hunter Classics throughout the season at Blenheim EquiSports. The pair received top placings in several of the classics to earn 38 points and the victory.

For her efforts, Roseboom received a $500 American Horse Products Gift Certificate.

Romfh Equestrian Apparel also sponsored the Children’s Hunter Classic Circuit Award, which was earned by Peyten Seltzer.

Seltzer galloped Que Crème to four wins in 2019, including the final classic held during Blenheim Fall Tournament; and as Classic Circuit Grand Champion, she received a $250 Romfh Equestrian Apparel Gift Certificate.

With a total of 108 points Seltzer and Que Crème proved best out of any Classic Circuit Grand Champion.
