Whitethorne LLC and Georgy Maskrey-Segesman recently announced their sponsorship of a second exceptional equitation event for 2019.

For the third consecutive year, the “American Tradition of Excellence Equitation Challenge” will be featured during the Blenheim June Classic III at Rancho Mission Viejo Riding Park in San Juan Capistrano from June 17 – 19, 2019.

Georgy created this class initially in 2017 to bring a new perspective and opportunity to the equitation ring.

The class features a one-of-a-kind, three phase format which provides invaluable experience for all involved plus the winning rider earns a new Butet saddle and their trainer takes home a $10,000 bonus.

The unique format includes each competitor receiving valuable feedback via a judges comment card, as well as riders and trainers also get the opportunity to attend an informative and social forum at The Ritz-Carlton, Laguna Niguel.

Additionally, Whitethorne LLC has created new class called the “$25,000 Whitethorne Equitation Challenge” for this year, which will be featured at the Del Mar International World Cup™ Week, October 16 – 20, 2019 at the Del Mar Fairgrounds, under the management of West Palm Events.

The class is open to junior, amateur, and professional riders who are current PCHA members. Trainers must be current CPHA members. Fences will be no higher than 3’3, and the first phase will be a qualifying round held in the large outdoor hunter ring over an equitation-style course. The top 15 riders from the first phase will return for the second phase, which will be a gymnastics phase in the indoor arena. The top 6 riders after the second phase will return for a work-off on their own horses, followed by another work-off round in which riders will trade horses. The first place rider after all phases will take home the lion’s share of the prize money, $20,000 (junior and amateur prize money awarded to trainer per USEF rules).

I’m excited to be a part of both of these classes which are different in both spirit and purpose. It is the mission of Whitethorne to give back to the sport that has been my lifelong passion. By infusing excitement into the equitation we hope to broaden the depth of competition on the West Coast“, said Georgy Maskrey-Segesman of Whitethorne LLC.
