Weekly Update | May 22, 2020

May 22, 2020 | Announcements, Featured

Dear Friends,

…End of another week, as the days all seem to blend into each other, heading into the Memorial Day weekend! On our front, the City Council of San Juan Capistrano responded positively to our COVID-19 protocol action plan, however they are requiring that certain changes be made to our proposal before forwarding it on to Sacramento. Accordingly, they will receive our revised plan Tuesday morning, and we will hopefully have some positive developments to share with everyone next week.

On our other front, Del Mar Horsepark was in the news yesterday when the 22nd D.A.A. announced that the site of the Showpark horse shows is being considered as a temporary location for homeless veterans. From our perspective, there is no cause for alarm because we had already moved all our shows on the 2020 schedule to the Rancho Mission Viejo Riding Park at San Juan Capistrano. This was done so that we could concentrate all our resources at one facility in order to best implement the various COVID-19 protocols. It should be noted that the proposed modular housing is not intended to be a permanent fixture on the property, and that the Del Mar Horsepark will return as a horse show facility in 2021.

Have an enjoyable Memorial Day weekend!
